Number Tracing Worksheets

Printable tracing sheets for the numbers 0 to 9, and 1 to 20 printed ten to a page, one number per row. Each number can carry a start dot and stroke arrows. US Letter or A4 PDF, free, no sign-up.

Adds a numbered start dot and arrows to every traced number, so a child can see where the pencil starts and which way each stroke travels. Off by default.

Pick a number to trace

Tap a number to open it. You get a full page of that one number to trace, a large outline to print on its own, and a PNG you can download.

Print 0 to 9 in one go

The ruled sheet gives you 0 to 9 with a model and trace space on every row. The outline numbers give you hollow numbers to trace around, colour in, or cut out.

Build a sheet for the numbers you are working on

Pick a ready set to print one number per ruled row, or type the numbers you want, such as 3 5 8. Numbers stay whole, so 10 prints as ten and not as a 1 and a 0. Pick how much help the sheet gives and it rebuilds as you go.

Getting the most out of number tracing

For why the start point matters more than a neat finish, see why start dots and stroke order matter, and moving from tracing to writing for when to drop the dots.

Letters are on the letter tracing worksheets page, and a child's own name on the name tracing worksheet maker. For big numbers to colour in rather than trace, see the bubble letters and numbers.

Number Tracing FAQ

Tap a number in the strip to open a full page of it, then use Download PDF on the panel. For all ten digits at once, use Ruled sheet PDF for rows with a model on each, or Outline numbers PDF for hollow numbers. For a run such as 1 to 10, pick it under Ready number sets and print that.
Yes. Under Ready number sets, 1 to 10 and 11 to 20 each print one number per ruled row, so 10 and 20 stay whole numbers rather than splitting into two digits. You can also type your own run, such as 5 6 7 8, and the sheet traces exactly that.
Tick Show stroke direction and each number gains a numbered dot where the pencil should start, plus an arrow for the way each stroke travels. Numbers are where this matters most: 5 is two strokes, 4 is often started at the wrong end, and a reversed 3 or 7 usually begins at the wrong point rather than in the wrong direction.
Yes. There is no sign-up, no email, no watermark across the sheet and no limit on how many you print. Every sheet is drawn in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.
Yes. Open Print settings to choose US Letter or A4, portrait or landscape, and the margin. The preview card changes to match, and the PDF is built at that size, so a single number fills one page on either paper.
Letters have their own page: letter tracing worksheets cover every letter A to Z, capital and lowercase, with the same seven levels of help and the same stroke arrows.
