Three levels that mean something specific
- Easy The first letter stays where it is. A child who half knows the word has somewhere to start, which is what makes this the early-primary setting.
- Medium Every letter is shuffled, and the result is never the word itself.
- Hard No letter is left on the square it started on, so a long word cannot come back with most of it already in place.
- Reprints match Each sheet comes from the child's name, so a replacement weeks later is the same puzzle and your answer key still works.
A word needs at least two different letters to be worth scrambling, so anything shorter is named under the preview rather than printed with its answer showing. Yes. Spanish, Polish, French, German and any other Latin-script list keep their own letters, and so do Cyrillic and Greek lists. German ss stays a single letter rather than splitting in two. A two-word entry such as ice cream scrambles as one run of letters and still reads as two words on the answer key.
