Roblox-Friendly Fonts — What Actually Saves

"Works on Roblox" is really three separate hurdles, and most guides blur them together:

1. Device rendering. A style shows as boxes (□) when the reader's phone or PC doesn't have a font that covers that Unicode range — this is a device issue, not something Roblox controls, and it can happen with any styled text on any platform.

2. Roblox's display-name filter. Separately, Roblox validates display names when you save them and rejects certain characters outright with an "unsupported characters" error — a real, server-side check, not a rendering problem.

3. Roblox's chat/moderation filter. This is a different system again, built to catch profanity, personal information, and evasive text in chat. It is not something to try to get around, and this generator is not built for that — it's for styling your name, not bypassing moderation.

For display names, bios, and group descriptions, the most reliable choices are plain Unicode-substitution styles — bold, italic, small caps, gothic — and single decorative symbols like the ones below. Because a display-name change only refreshes free once every 7 days, always preview a style in-game before you commit to it.

@Username vs Display Name

Your @username is your unique login ID — costs 1,000 Robux to change, ASCII-only, 3–20 chars. Your display name is what players see in-game — free once every 7 days, supports Unicode symbols, not unique. Fancy symbols go in the display name; the generator above styles that field, not the @username one.
