PUBG Mobile's name field is generous about decoration and tight about length — the opposite trade-off from a game like Fortnite. Japanese-style ornaments (亗 メ ミ 彡), umbrella frames ꧁꧂, and crowns all render fine on current clients, but you only get 14 characters total, and every symbol in a frame spends one of them. A name like ꧁༒𝕂𝔸ℤ𝔼༒꧂ is already at the limit before you add anything else.

That's the whole reason the checker above counts the decorated name rather than what you typed. Renaming costs a Rename Card, and the card is consumed whether or not the name fits — so it's worth seeing the real total first. Everything below works identically in BGMI, which is the same game with the same 14-character field.

How to Change Your Name in PUBG Mobile

Renaming in PUBG Mobile costs a Rename Card, which is why it's worth getting the name right the first time:

1. Copy your styled name from the generator or the name lists above.
2. Open PUBG Mobile and go to your Inventory.
3. Find the Rename Card and tap Use.
4. Paste the copied name and confirm — it must fit inside 14 characters.

New accounts usually receive one free Rename Card; after that they're bought with UC or picked up from events. The card is spent on confirmation, so use the live checker above to see the real character count of the decorated name before you commit. The same steps apply in BGMI.

Which Symbols Actually Work in PUBG Names

PUBG Mobile accepts a wide decorative range, which is why the game's name meta looks so different from Fortnite's. The characters the community leans on hardest are the Japanese-style ornaments — 亗 メ ミ 彡 — and the Javanese umbrella frames ꧁ ꧂, often paired with ༒ or ࿐. Styled Unicode letters (bold, cursive, gothic, small caps) render reliably too.

Two practical constraints worth knowing. First, a plain space is rejected — use a dot, an underscore, or a decorative separator between words instead. Second, the 14-character budget counts symbols, so pick one frame rather than stacking several; a double-wrapped name usually won't fit alongside a readable base name.

For the full character set, see PUBG / BGMI name symbols — a browsable collection of every ornament that renders in the name field. To style the base name differently, try bold fonts, gothic fonts, or the general nickname generator.
