๐ฌ ๐จ๏ธ ๐ญ โ โ ใใ โโ โ the colour balloons redraw themselves on every device; the quote and bracket bubbles never do. Pick by where it has to survive.
A speech bubble does two jobs: it marks text as something being said, and it points at whoever said it. Unicode splits those jobs across four groups. The emoji balloons carry the whole shape at once but arrive in colour and change artwork between devices. The quote and bracket forms are plain characters, so they take your text colour and stay identical everywhere โ which is why bios and captions tend to use those instead. Pick by where it has to survive, not by which looks best in this list.
The drawn balloons. These are emoji, so they render in colour and the artwork differs between Apple, Google and Samsung.
Plain characters that read as a bubble when they wrap a line. These follow your text colour and never change shape between platforms.
CJK brackets used as bubbles. They are full-width, so they hold a line apart more strongly than Latin brackets do.
The tail is what turns a box into a bubble. Combine these with the frame pieces to draw your own.
Because it needs a variation selector to be drawn as an emoji. ๐จ on its own is defined with text presentation, so some apps render it as a monochrome glyph. The version on this page already carries the selector โ copy from the tile rather than retyping it.
None of the emoji balloons, on most platforms โ fields that accept emoji are the exception rather than the rule. The quote and bracket forms are ordinary characters and usually pass: ใใ and โ โ are the two that survive the widest range of username fields.
Use the corner pieces as a frame: โญโโโโฎ on the first line, your text between two โ or โ characters, โฐโโโโฏ on the last, then a โ on the line below for the tail. It only lines up in a monospaced font, so it works in Discord code blocks and terminals but drifts in a normal bio field.
๐ฌ is speech โ words actually said out loud. ๐ญ is a thought balloon, with the trailing circles that comics use for something a character is thinking but not saying. ๐ฏ๏ธ is the jagged one, reserved for shouting or anger.
