Pondering, hmm-ing, taking notes and landing on an idea. Tap any thinking face to copy it.
A thinking kaomoji usually has closed or half-closed eyes, a flat mouth and something trailing after it. Japanese writers add the sound of thought: ウーン (uun) and ンー (nn) are the drawn-out hmm, and ウーム (uumu) is a heavier, more serious one. Small circles like 。o○ rise from the face as a thought bubble. φ is the Greek letter phi, and next to a face it looks like a pen, so φ(..) is someone writing notes. A raised finger ☝ marks the moment the idea arrives. Use these while weighing a decision, mulling a reply or teasing that you are planning something. The 🤔 emoji is on the thinking emoji page linked below.
Each face carries the Japanese sound for thinking out loud, written in half-width katakana.
Quiet faces with lowered or closed eyes, turning something over.
The rising circles are the bubble. Type something inside the brackets to show what the face is thinking.
φ is the pen. Put it on the left or right to change which hand writes.
The finger goes up when the thinking pays off.
ウーン (uun) is the Japanese sound of someone thinking hard or hesitating, close to a long English hmm. It is written in half-width katakana so it sits snugly next to the face.
φ is the Greek letter phi. Its upright stroke and loop look like a pen held in the hand, so a face beside it reads as someone writing notes.
There is no single standard one. (´-ω-`)ウーン and (˘・_・˘) carry the same meaning, and adding a raised finger ☝ gets closer to the hand-on-chin pose of 🤔.
The UltraTextGen kaomoji generator filters the parts by mood, then lets you swap the outline, eyes and mouth and add cheeks or arms, keeping the left and right sides matched. Every part is plain Unicode text, so the face pastes wherever you are typing.
